Avira AntiVir Personal su Ubuntu 10.10

This brief tutorial will show you how to install Avira AntiVir Personal, a free antivirus program that’s easy to use, and designed to provide reliable antivirus protection to home-users for personal use. It supports both Windows and Linux systems. Antivirus is not mandatory in Ubuntu, but if you want added protection for your system, then installing it won’t hurt.

Getting started:

To get started, click here and download Avira AntiVir Personal for Linux.

After downloading, go to Places –> Downloads.

Then right-click on the package and select ‘Extract Here’.

After extracting go to Applications –> Accessories –> Terminal and run the command below and press Enter.
cd Downloads/antivir-workstation-pers-<version #>

Then type the command below and press Enter to begin installing.
sudo ./install

Read the license and press [Y] to continue.

During the installing, accept all prompts set to [Y] and press Enter.

When prompted to check for updates once a week, type [Y] and press Enter.

Also type [Y] to install AVIRA Guard GNOME plugin.

Continue until the installation is complete. Once complete, right-click on a blank area of the top panel and select Add to Panel.

Then select Avira AntiVir Guard (Monitor) and click ‘Add’

Without dazuko support, the umbrella will remain closed but you could still use the on-demand scanning feature of AntiVir.

To perform a scan on your system, go to Applications –> Accessories –> Terminal and run the command below:
sudo avscan

finita l'installazione per aggiornare le firme dei virus scivete da terminale:

sudo antivir --update

per lanciare la scansione in modo ricorsivo con cartelle e sottocartelle scrivete sempre da terminale:

sudo antivir -s

con questo comando incomincia la scansione della cartella dove lanciate il comando, per scansionare altre cartelle basta indicare il percorso ad esempio sudo anvivir -s /opt , alla fine il software indica le directory, ed eventuali file infetti, eccovi un esempio.
